On Wednesday, October 28, 2009, approximately 11:25 am, officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department Traffic Unit responded to a call of a hit and run collision at the intersection of Perris Blvd. and Hemlock St. in the city of Moreno Valley.

The driver of a red Toyota Camry had struck a white Ford Ranger at the intersection of Perris Blvd. and Hemlock Street. After striking the Ranger, the driver of the Toyota continued driving eastbound on Hemlock until he reached a residence in the 12200 block of Kitching Street. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and struck the west wall of the residence. A portion of the wall was knocked down.

The occupant of the residence was sleeping at the time and was thrown off the bed from the impact. The occupant was transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as Joshua Padilla (3/20/82), fled the scene of the collision but was taken into custody. He was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation and was later transported to the Robert Presley Detention Center for felony hit and run charges.
