On Saturday, October 17, 2009, about 1020 hours, Officers from the Temecula Police Department responded to a report of a traffic collision in front of the 27400 block of Jefferson Avenue in Temecula. Their investigation revealed the following:
A 27-year-old male was riding a motorcycle southbound on Jefferson Avenue behind a large truck. The truck made a right turn into a driveway at a business. The motorcycle was passing the truck on the left when another truck pulled out of the same driveway into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle impacted the left side of the truck pulling out of the driveway and the motorcycle rider was ejected over the hood of the truck.
The motorcycle rider suffered serious head injuries and was transported to Inland Valley Hospital by ambulance. He is still in surgery at the time this press release was written.
The 17-year-old driver of the truck involved in the collision was not injured. He was interviewed and released to his guardian at the scene.
It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision and the investigation is continuing at this time.
