On Thursday, October 16, 2009 deputies from the Hemet Sheriff's Station were dispatched to the 22100 block of Hansen Avenue in the unincorporated area of Riverside County known as Nuevo in regards to a home invasion robbery that had just occurred.
Deputies arrived within minutes and found several unknown suspects had broken into an occupied residential house. The area was checked with assistance from the Sheriff's Helicopter STAR 9 and Hemet Station K-9 but no suspects were found.
It was determined that several suspects broke into the house and confronted the two victims who were asleep at the time. The male victim was able to fight off the suspects who fled the house. The victim received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
