On Thursday, October 15, 2009, the Moreno Valley Police Department completed a two-month investigation. The investigation was initiated based on several complaints from concerned citizens regarding illegal narcotic activity in the area of Pedrorena Park.

At 7:00 AM, officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department's Special Enforcement Team, Problem Oriented Policing Team and the Moreno Valley Gang Task Force conducted parole and probation compliance checks at twenty locations within the City of Moreno Valley. The compliance checks were conducted in reference to an ongoing narcotic investigation. One search warrant was obtained and served at a residence, which resulted in the seizure of narcotics for sales.

Parole and Probation compliance checks are conducted by law enforcement personnel to ensure individuals are in compliance with their terms of parole or probation. As a result of the compliance checks/investigation, fourteen individuals were arrested for felony related charges and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center. The violations included possession of illegal drugs for sales, as well as other violations of their parole and/or probation terms. In addition, eight individuals were arrested for miscellaneous misdemeanors.
