Abel Lopez Gonzalez, 45 Details:
On Wednesday, October 14, 2009, deputies assigned to the Indio Station’s County Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Team, Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District Team, Coachella Community Action Team, Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force and Indio Station Investigators served a narcotics-related search warrant in the 40000 block of Galindo Court in Indio.
During the search of the residence, deputies located heroin, methamphetamine, methadone, morphine, amphetamines, items indicative of drug sales, drug paraphernalia, and an illegal assault rifle. A resident of the location, Abel Lopez Gonzalez, 45 years old from Indio, was arrested and booked into the Indio Jail for possession of heroin and methamphetamine for sales, possession of controlled substances without a prescription, possession of an illegal assault rifle, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Gonzalez is being held on $125,000 bail. This search warrant was joint effort between several special teams serving the eastern Coachella Valley because Gonzalez was providing drugs to many residents of the eastern Coachella Valley.
