On Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at approximately 0630 hours, a female called 911 from her cell phone from La Quinta Park reporting that a man with a gun had tried to force her into her vehicle.
The adult female was exercising at the park with a female friend when she was approached by a man with a handgun who tried to force the victim into her car. The victim was able to run away. The suspect fled on foot.
A perimeter was established and deputies searched the area with the assistance of California Highway Patrol aircraft, however, the suspect was not located.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult in his 20s, 6 feet tall, 200 lbs., with short or shaved hair, wearing a dark sweatshirt and black sweat pants. A composite sketch of the suspect is at right.
