On Saturday, October 3, 2009, at approximately 12:40 PM, officers from the Coachella Police Department responded to the Rite Aid at 51101 Harrison Street to investigate a commercial burglary and brandishing of a knife.
The investigation revealed that two Hispanic male juveniles stole merchandise from the store and were confronted by a store employee. The employee asked for the property to be returned and the suspects complied. One of the suspects then brandished a knife at the employee, then both fled in a vehicle. The employee was not injured and was able to provide a license plate to the police.
Officer Jesus Borrego located the suspects and their vehicle in the 51000 block of Tyler Street, then later arrested them. Both were arrested for commercial burglary and one for brandishing a knife.
The suspects were booked into Indio Juvenile Hall. The names are not being released as they are minors.
