On October 2nd, 2009, a deputy assigned to the City of Calimesa Police Department responded to a reported fraud involving illicit credit card use. Once the deputy met with the victim it was learned that she had lost her wallet prior, and that unknown suspect(s) had been using her credit cards to purchase merchandise through the Internet. Extensive follow-up investigation by the deputy revealed the fraudulently acquired merchandise had been delivered to a residence at 8640 Calimesa Boulevard, City of Calimesa. The deputy was also aware that the San Gorgonio Pass Regional Gang Task Force was also looking for a wanted individual residing at that residence. Based on this information, a search warrant was obtained by the investigating deputy for the residence at 8640 Calimesa Boulevard, Calimesa.
On October 3rd, 2009, deputies assigned to the City of Calimesa Police Department, assisted by members of the San Gorgonio Pass Gang Task Force, served the search warrant at 8640 Calimesa Boulevard. During a search of the residence, three people were detained and fraudulently-purchased merchandise valued at over $400.00 was recovered. Also located at the residence was an unregistered firearm, a quantity of Methamphetamine, evidence of drug sales, as well as multiple items of stolen property from a residential burglary that had occurred in the City of Beaumont in 2008. All of these items were seized as evidence. The Methamphetamine seized had an estimated street value of approximately $500.00
Jon Miranda, 22 years old of Calimesa, Robert Foster, 48 years old of Calimesa, and Kelli Foster, 20 years old of Calimesa, were subsequently arrested for various felony charges relating to fraudulent use of a credit card, possession/receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance for sales, and firearms violations. All three were subsequently booked on the charges at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Center in Banning.
