The deceased Hispanic male was positively identified as Urbano Gonzalez, a 28-year-old resident of Mead Valley. The two gunshot victims are listed in stable condition.

Details:

On Thursday, October 1, 2009, at about 9:01 P.M., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Perris Station responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the area of Mapes Road / Menifee Road, in the unincorporated area of Riverside County known as Romoland.

Deputies arrived within minutes and located two Hispanic males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The two males were transported to a local area hospital and are listed in stable condition. Deputies also located the deceased body of an unidentified Hispanic male down a dirt driveway on Mapes Road. The deceased male appeared to possibly have been struck by a vehicle. An autopsy will be conducted at a later time.

Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Perris Station and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
