Correctional Deputy I/II -- Position Information

Correctional Deputies guard, control and supervise the prisoners at Riverside County adult detention facilities which consists of the Riverside, Indio, Blythe, Temecula, Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, and Riverside County Regional Medical Center (Detention Ward). Incumbents will be enrolled in a seven-week academy for training within one year of being hired. Applicants for Correctional Deputy positions may be filled at either the I or II level. Applicants hired at the lower level may be promoted to the higher level upon meeting the minimum qualifications and satisfactory work performance record. New hires are responsible for paying their portion of the PERS safety retirement (9%) for the first three years of employment.
