Benefits

Retirement: The Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) is coordinated with Social Security. New hires, who are not currently receiving fully-paid safety retirement benefits, are responsible for paying their portion of the Public Employee's Retirement System (PERS).

Vacation: The amount of paid vacation is based on the employee's years of service: 80 hours for 0-3 years; 120 hours for 4-9 years; 160 hours, for 10 plus years.

Sick leave: Approximately 104 hours of paid sick leave per year with no limit on accumulation.

Holidays: An average of 13 paid holidays per year.

Medical, Dental and Optical Insurance: Several plans are available for regular employees and their dependents. The county provides a generous contribution toward premium costs with the amount varying according to the Bargaining Unit. The difference between the County's contribution and the premium(s), if any, is paid to the employee.

Life Insurance: A policy is provided through the Bargaining Unit.

Credit Union/Deferred Compensation: Available to all interested employees.

Rideshare: A County sponsored rideshare program which includes preferred parking, a guaranteed ride home, and other incentives at most locations.

County employees are not eligible to hold more than one County position, unless otherwise noted.
