Work Release and Secured Electronic Confinement Program

WORK RELEASE/WEEKEND PROCESSING

1. Failure to Appear (FTA): You must report to the WRP/SECP Office for processing no earlier than 9:00 AM and no later than 4:00 PM on the date indicated below. If you FAIL TO APPEAR you must return to court AFTER TWO WEEKS FROM THE ORIGINAL START DATE.

2. Weekend Commitment: The court has sentenced you to serve a sentence. The Sheriff's Department will determine if you qualify for either the Work Release Program (WRP) or in custody commitment. If the Court has indicated on your commitment order that you are not eligible for WRP, you will serve your time in custody.

You have the option to apply for the Supervised Electronic Confinement (Home Detention) Program. The SECP offers a low cost alternative allowing you to continue to work or go to school. Applicants are subject to approval by the Sheriff's Department.

3. Subject to Search: All persons entering the WRP/SECP Office are subject to search. By entering the WRP/SECP Office, you are automatically giving permission to a search of your person and property. Refusal to allow a search of your person or property will result in removal from this facility.

4. Section 4573 / 4574 California Penal Code: It is unlawful to bring or possess any type of the following: narcotics, alcohol, firearms, deadly weapons, chemical agents, or explosives on these premises. Any person that reports for processing with the odor of alcohol on their breath or under the influence of any narcotic or drug will be arrested and confined to jail custody for the weekend. Additional charges may be filed.

5. $90.00 PROCESSING FEE: This administrative fee covers the costs associated with processing each participant as outlined in Penal Code Section 4024.2 (e). You may pay the fee with CASH, CREDIT CARD, OR U.S. POSTAL MONEY ORDER. No Personal checks are accepted.

6. Photo Identification: In order to enroll into the Work Release or SEC Program you must bring at least one of the following types of photo identification:

7. Transportation: You are responsible for your own transportation to the WRP/SECP Office. Upon your arrival, park your vehicle in the public parking lot on Hargrave Street. If someone else brings you, they are allowed to enter the WRP/SECP Office with you. Do not have your ride leave the facility unless the Work Release Staff has confirmed you will be staying in custody. Riverside County will not assume responsibility for damage or loss to any vehicles or it's contents.

8. Dress Code: Both men and women are expected to dress conservatively in appropriate attire. Clothing depicting sexual, lewd or obscene comments or pictures is not acceptable. Clothing referring to gang affiliation is also unacceptable. Clothing must not be "see through" or show any part of the midriff. Example of acceptable wear: Men - T-shirts, sport shirts, dress shirts, full tank tops (covering all sides), jeans, slacks, shorts to mid thigh. Women - Blouses, T-shirts, pants, dresses, or shorts to mid thigh. All person entering this facility must wear shoes.

9. No Cellular phone: Telephone are allowed on the premises.

10. No Smoking: Smoking is not allowed inside the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility or around the WRP/SECP Building.
