Deputy Sheriffs and personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Indio and Palm Desert Stations would like to invite the public to attend their local Applebee’s Restaurant.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Department personnel, to include Sheriff Stan Sniff’s Executive Team, will partner up with “Special Olympics of Southern California”, a non-profit organization that provides year round training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities for a fundraising event.
The fundraiser known as “Tip A Cop” is an event in which law enforcement personnel volunteer as “celebrity waiters” and assist regular servers with serving food and drinks to restaurant patrons. At the completion of the meal, the deputies solicit tips from the patrons. All donations collected support “Special Olympics” in providing training, equipment, uniforms and transportation to competitions for “Special Olympic” athletes.
The event will take place on Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. at Applebee’s Restaurants located in the cities of Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage and La Quinta.
Please come out and support your local Applebee’s Restaurant and the men and women of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department which will in turn greatly benefit the “Special Olympics of Southern California.”
