On Friday, 10/16/09, about 1955 hours, officers from the Temecula Police Department investigated a traffic accident that had just occurred on Pechanga Parkway south of Rainbow Canyon Road in Temecula. Their investigation revealed the following:
An elderly male and his elderly wife attempted to cross Pechanga Parkway on foot after leaving the Hazit Market. They were struck by a vehicle traveling northbound in the northbound number one lane of Pechanga Parkway. The two victims were treated by paramedics and taken by ambulance to local hospitals. The male victim died from his injuries at the hospital. The female victim suffered minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. Identification of the victims is pending notification of their families.
It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision and the investigation is continuing at this time.
